Organizing
Finally I have no people working here, at home, the painters were the last to left out, and all the people who worked on the remolding ,all gone. At last, I have my house back. Despite the setbacks, delays and frustrations, we are very happy with the result. Our home has been very clear, bright, with a great sunlight and also very functional, just what we wanted

Mexican night

For this reunion she did something thematic. A Mexican night, with typical food, as quesadllas, tacos and burritos. It was a warm summer night very nice and fun with good food and good family company . I leave here some pics, and who knows inspire and maybe encourage yourself.

Today close

Yesterday was our 5th anniversary and I could not prepare anything for this Friday, We went to dinner out and other people prepared food for us. But next week there will be something good waiting. Have a nice week end

I am with my mom cleaning and organizing some thing of my grandmon´s house, who passed away two weeks ago, is a sad moment , because in every object every plant I see her passion.

Visit and vacations
We spent wonderful moments visiting traditional cafés, like Las violetas and Tortoni. This last was refuge of some intellectual people like, Borges and many others.
My sister and niece are mad about chocolate and I made these brownies, with chopped white chocolate and cherries, I must to say that they ate a lot….
My niece has only 15 and a quite petty girl, she loves to draw, listened music, and bake cookies, exactly as her aunt...
Tomorrow we will take vacations for a couple of weeks.

New Finds

This week I went to shop, I found interesting stuffs. Some of them I really need but the two others, well, pure impulse.
One of this was this kitchen candle scent. And it really works out. After dinner I burn it and all food smells are gone. I dislike kitchen candles with pies, vanilla or fruits scents. But this we really enjoy it, often borrow refreshing aromas from fresh herbs to our kitchen
One important advice; be careful with the scent that you choose for burn during a dinner
Vanilla or sweet scents don’t combine with fish or scallops. So if you don’t insist on suffocate the air and your guest as well use unscented or smooth scented candles.
½ cup pomegranate seeds blended with cold water (straining)
Mix all ingredients and serve on the rocks (add sugar if you like)

A quick note
I am quite busy these days, My parents are coming to spent a week with us,and, FINALLY my kitchen island was livered.After months waiting ,they handed in a wrong size. I m getting sick with those things. It was very rude of them ..But I am really tired to enter in a discussion that I know that lead me to nowhere.
Anyway I am preparing a new dish that I post the recipe in one or two days more.

A good idea

Meanwhile my salted cod fish is desalted in water. (A wonderful and delicious recipe is coming soon) I look at the naked wall in front of my seat in kitchen and I had a wonderful and saving idea.

In guest room I have two old pinus bookshelves. So, if I turn the bookshelves into a display cabinet?
They only need a new painting and ...”viola”.

Introducing my new glasses display ….. It was a cheaper solution, isn’t it?

Remolding kitchen and the last risotto

I made this risotto last Sunday, the last day that my kitchen seems like a kitchen.
The good new was that my brand new cooker arrives, Always is the same thing, when you need desperately, the store usually delivery two weeks later, but, when you don’t …in the same day you have in home

Summer breeze
These are days that we adored, summer, lazy days, and un dolce far niente in the beach. So we stay out in vacation for a couple of weeks

A good and Happy new
Well, I want to share with you a good and happy new I won the January DMBLGIT contest in originality category hosted by The food traveller I am so proud, because I started to take food photos a lees than a year
As well I work whit advertising art direction and made a lot of food TV commercials I never take a photo inside the set. I just watch the photographer I have basic knowledge about light and perspective that I learn in the university. I am a good observant , I try to recreate some techniques ,sometimes I feel that I am able , sometimes no, but I always try to do my best.
I like to take pictures in different angles and creative shapes trying to stay out of the common places that I saw in food photos, but I never miss my focus, well I try, that is food
I want to thanks all encouraging comment and visit, mainly to Nieves and Maryanne
